Match: Gonzalan vs Vaillants: 12-8, 45-40

Well, a much better result than from I played this scenario in COOL 2015.  That one a 0-4 loss and this one a 4-0 win and keeps me moving forward in the points race.

Game 1, 23 turns, dice were running cold to start, 20-50, 40% and 19-45, 42% are how things ended for the match and worked out for me.  Vaillants got an early kill of my hedgerow ARTY and I got one back of his ARTY that he had moved up to the forest and I had the cards in the Center and Right flanks to work to my advantage and after he was ahead, 1-3, I tied it at 3-3 and then from there I got the better results and was able to capture Bréville and then kill another unit to end the game at 6-3.  A slow start for me, had me worried, but got the cards and dice in the end to get the win.

Game 2, 22 turns, dice were 25-44, 57%, all on INF and 21-51, 41% with 48 of his dice on INF for 42% and well, with 10 INF units to shoot at, 57%, 25 hits = 6 kills with 1 to spare and a 6-5 win for me. His 20-48 on INF was good for 5 kills and only 1-3 on ARMOR and that was the difference in Game 2.  He pressed early on his RIGHT flank, lost 2 units and tied it at 2-2 by T-11, but came at a cost.  From there, as my 57% shows, I had the better hit rate on attacks, got up 5-3, he tied it at 5-5 on T-21 and my BARRAGE won it on the last turn and 6-5 win for me.

2 tough games for Vaillants, 1st game started well and ran out of cards and dice, 2nd game started slowly and wasn't able to get the comeback win.   A win that once again moves me forward and with 3 matches left, hopefully in a good position.  Vaillants, though no one likes to lose 0-4, still in a good spot with 22 pts and 3 matches left, though he has our early leader in Dreexxer next match.

Yes, a disastrous result in J8, but, let us review your overall performance to date as to where you stand in relation to the matches J1 to J8 in the standings:

J1: 1st, J2: 2nd, J3: 3rd, J4: 2nd, J5: 2nd, J6: 2nd, J7: 1st, J8: 2nd/3rd currently...

So, you have been at or near the top and nothing, currently, has changed for you after 8 matches, though a few players have yet to play a match or 2, but odds are that you stay at or near the top thru J8 and sure you will rebound in your next 3 matches. You have been consistent and sure, thru your play, that will hold true in the next 3 matches.

As I said, basically a match in hand, say over ChrisLIX, who has 15 pts in 5th, for now and even if a 4-0 win in J8 has 19 pts thru J8 and you are still up 3 pts and at worse maybe down a point or tied or still ahead after J9. Just avoid any more disasters!

As for me, so far, have avoided any disastrous results, a 0-4 loss and hope that holds true for the next 3 matches.  Even at 1 pt a piece, leaves me at 26 pts and hopefully that will be good enough for Top 4.

And combination of pts can vary greatly in 3 matches, 0-12 pts and anywhere in between and will see how it goes.
