The hit rate on armour (38% vs 15%) decided this game. Tony missed his dice and I didn't. Crucial for Tony were turns 11 (0/7 on 2 fig arm) and 13 (1/5 on the same 2 fig arm). In turn 12 my firefight eliminated a 2nd arm unit to make it 2-1 and weakened others. My DHQ in turn 14 got me medals 3, 4 and 5 making it 5-1 leaving Tony without armour and I still had my 3 armour units + 2 artillery units...

In this game Tony played very aggressive, maybe too aggressive, as the dice didn't follow. A timely ambush on his Armour assault helped me and Tony missing some crucial dice gave me the opportunity to play a devastating assault in the middle eliminating Tony's 3 armour units for a 3-1 score. After that it was just being patient and picking away at the inf units waiting for the right moment. Tony played a General Advance giving him 2 medals making it 3-3 but my counter attack gave me the needed 3 remaining medals to finish the game 6-3.
This time the hit rate was more even (37% vs 41%) but I only needed 2 medals for 3 ranking points so it was relax playing for me and trying to score a double victory.




As always a real pleasure playing/meeting Tony. Our chat afterwards lasted longer than the games did. I wish you the best of luck for the remainder of the tournament my friend.

Wow, if that is how you treat your friends, I would rather be your enemy!! LOL! Might stand a better chance at winning. Goes without saying, but I confirm his 4-0 victory.

DIEDerik did ask in the lobby who wanted to DIE(d) and I foolishly took him up on his offer and was a hapless victim of his card, dice and skills!!

1st game, he had just about as many hits 15 as I did shots, 20, on Armor and end of story, difficult to win when you shoot that way.  Thought I played an ok game, Diederik just played better.

2nd game, down 1-6, I came out aggressive as he said, looking to get the jump on him and made a bad move, should have moved all my Armor to attack in the CENTER as he brought out 3 INF units, but with AMBUSH in hand made sense on his part and paid off on my ARM ASLT, 2 hits for him and a flag and lost 4 dice. Then miss with 8 dice on an INF with no retreat and that was pretty much that story.

Well done by Diederik and congrats on his win. Glad I am doing my part to help the leaders advance, 1sr Kelian_05, then Hougoumont and now DDB73, so hope for the others yet to come!!


As for me, now have to concentrate on Top 8 for sure and stay in Challenger!!

Thanks for your kind words Tony but you should have known better : on the battlefield I have no friends nor am I Santa Claus.
You have to earn it the hard way.  In games and sports I always play to win. If not, there is no need to play...
But even losing to a friend who plays better or has better luck can be fun.
